What We Believe

The Bible

God’s Word; through it He reveals Himself to us; trusted and accurate; the only completely trustworthy guide to life, death, relationship, and reality (2 Timothy 3:16; John 1:14; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God

Three persons, One being; completely holy, perfectly loving, supremely powerful; the self-existent one (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:16-17; Matthew 3:16-17; Leviticus 19:2; 1 John 4:8; Jeremiah 32:17; Acts 17:24-25)

Jesus

Fully God, fully man; born to die to take the punishment we deserve; existed from eternity past, was born miraculously to a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death, raised to life physically and supernaturally; will return to earth in the future (Romans 9:5; Matthew 1:21-23; John 3:16; John 17:5; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:15; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:20; John 14:3)

The Holy Spirit

Fully God; directs us to truth; lives in us and works through us as we allow; the source of a capacity and ability to live a life that pleases God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16; John 16:13-15; John 14:17; Acts 1:8)

Mankind

Created for the purpose of worshiping God, born with a desire to serve self; our highest achievement, greatest fulfillment and only real hope is a personal relationship with Christ (Isaiah 43:7; Ephesians 2:1-10)

The Church

Made up of imperfect people who have decided to follow Christ; chosen by God to do great things; gathered from all nations, races, ages and circumstances but united by an allegiance to the one true God; Not a building (Ephesians1:4-5; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Peter 2:9-10; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20)

Miracles

A supernatural God, working in supernatural ways in, through and around people; an expected result to believing prayer as it agrees with God’s desires; includes forgiveness, restoration, physical healing, direction and guidance (1 Thessalonians 1:5; Galatians 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:6-11; Mark 16:17-18; John 14:12; Mark 11:23; James 5:14)

The End

Christ returns to the earth to completely defeat evil and establish God’s rule; A time when all mankind will be separated into two groups, those who chose to live without His love and rule are allowed to do so (hell), those who have desired His love, kindness, and authority enjoy it forever (heaven) (Titus 2:12-13; Rev 21:1-4, 6-8; Matthew 25:31-46)
