Mythbusters 1 – Everything Happens for a Reason

No one has all the truth, which means that there are things that you and I believe about God, ourselves and our world that are simply not true.  It is vitally important that we examine what we believe and compare it to the Bible on a regular basis.  This series is designed to help us close the gaps between what we believe and what the Bible says.

Mythbusters #1 – Everything Happens for a Reason

1. God is not the ruler of this world

2.God is love

3.God gives good gifts

The Greatest Day in History

Most of the facts surrounding the resurrection of Christ are accepted as history by even unbelieving historians and literary critics (see The Minimal Facts of the Resurrection).  We need to consider the implications of Jesus rising from the dead.  What could it mean for you and me on a average Tuesday?…what possibilities does it open for us?…what kind of people can we become as a result?   Listen and decide for yourself…

  1.  Our yesterdays don’t have to define our tomorrows
  2.  We can be more than we are
  3.  The best is yet to come

Believing God – He Is Who He Says He Is

Who God really is can be much different from who others say He is and even at times, who we think He is.  In order to know God rightly, we must know and believe what he says about Himself

Who do you say He is today?

  1. He is our Creator
  2. He is our Provider
  3. He is our Savior

Why Pray? – Renewal

God’s person…qualities…characteristics made real to us…brought near to us…made available for our benefit.  This is just one of the benefits of prayer.  At times it can be really hard to pray…to believe.  There are often more reasons to feel discouraged and not pray that to choose to believe and spend some time alone with God.

The good news is that there many good reasons to press through…to fight for some time in prayer every day…one of them is renewal.  When renewal happens:

  1.  Joy spreads
  2.  Obedience increases
  3.  Power is demonstrated

Habakkuk 2:3

LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy

Why Pray? – Enlightenment

Prayer is one of the most mysterious things a follower of Christ does…we are speaking to a divine being we can’t see with our eyes and we don’t hear with our ears.

God already knows what we need…so why pray?

I often don’t seem to get answers in the way or in the time that I feel like I need them…so why pray?

It’s our hope that prayer will be a little less mysterious and much more enjoyable for you as a result of this message.

Why Pray? – Enlightenment!

Believing God #5 – God’s Word is alive and active in me

Is the Bible an underutilized force in your life?  Is there a way for it to be more impactful on a daily basis…for its truth to encourage us…challenge us…strengthen us…change us?  Listen to learn three ways to get God’s Word off the page and into our lives.

1.Embrace its power

2.Determine our input

3.Resolve our obedience

Hebrews 4:12 NLT

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Believing God #4 – I Can Do All Things Through Christ

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me…one of the most quoted verses from the Bible…but what does it really mean for us on a average Thursday?  Learn what it means and how to live it out more confidently and consistently.

  1.  I can
  2. All things
  3. Through Christ

Believing God #3 – You Are Who God Says You Are

We can learn to believe in greater ways that we are who God says we are…this message is a great place to start.

  1.  Discover what God says about you
  2. Choose to believe what God says about you
  3. Act on what God says about you

Evidence for the Existence of God

Is God real?   Can I trust Him?  Does He love me?  While some think these answers are not knowable, we have found good reasons to believe. This message offers three arguments for the existence of God:

1. The Cosmological  Argument

2. The Teleological Argument

3. The Personal Argument

If your not sure about God, we hope you will take the time to listen and decide for yourself.  If you are sure, this will better equip you to be able to give an answer for the hope you have.

The God Questions – Evil and Suffering

If God is all-good, all-powerful and all-knowing, why does He allow so much evil and suffering in the world. This message offers some answers to this difficult question.
