What can I expect?
We are a growing church in Delaware where everyone can expect a friendly welcome, a casual feel, contemporary music, and practical messages.
We realize that going to anyplace new can be exciting, possibly confusing, or maybe a little scary. We are working hard to do everything we can to make your experience at our church a positive one. There are some things you can count on us for:
Respect
We respect people of different religious backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. We are a church that welcomes you to investigate what we believe the Bible says about God, people and culture. While we realize we don’t have all the truth, we do believe that Jesus does and we will do our best to lead anyone and everyone to Him.
Opportunity
We believe our deepest need, highest fulfillment and greatest achievement is found in a personal relationship with God. We also believe you and I are designed to be in relationship with other people. We will offer opportunities to make those connections.
Challenge
We believe a church should make its community a better place. This can happen in two ways. The first way is for us to become the best possible version of ourselves by following Christ. As we become more Christ-like, we become more loving, more patient, more loyal, and more honorable. This makes us better neighbors and citizens; employees and employers; better parents and better kids. The second way we can make a positive difference in our community is to actively find ways to work with organizations and individuals that are doing good. We will challenge the people of Journey Community Church to make their community a better place through who we are and what we do.
Simplicity
People are busier than ever before. When we gather together we recognize the value of time. We will work hard to keep our gatherings focused on what is essential and relevant to you and the situations you may be facing.
Do I have to be a Christian to attend?
No. You are welcome to investigate as long as you like.
Where and when do you meet?
We are meeting on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am behind the McDonalds across from Grady Memorial hospital on Central Ave except for the 4th of each month when we host CRAVE community lunch at noon.
